What is the difference between die casting mold and injection mold?

From: Back to list
For molds, people often associate die-casting molds with injection molds. In fact, the difference between the two is still very large.

Because die casting is to fill the mold cavity with liquid or semi-liquid metal at a very high speed, and solidify under pressure to obtain a die casting. Generally used in metal materials, and injection molding is the main method of thermoplastic molding. Thermoplastics are made of thermoplastic resins, which can be repeatedly heated and softened, cooled and solidified. It is a physical process, reversible, that is, it can be recycled Yes, although both will use mold forming to make products, but although the working principle is not much different, the materials are different, and the natural molds are also different. Let's talk briefly about the difference between die-casting molds and injection molds!

1. The injection pressure of the die casting mold is large, so the template of the mold is relatively high, and it needs to be relatively thick to prevent deformation.

2. The gate of the die-casting mold is also different from the injection mold. It should be a high pressure that needs to be split by the split cone to decompose the flow.

3. Die casting mold mold core does not need to be quenched, because the temperature in the mold cavity during die casting is relatively high, which is equivalent to a quench, and the injection mold needs to be quenched.

4. Nitriding treatment is required in the die cavity of the die-casting mold to prevent the cavity of the alloy mucosa.

5. Generally, the corrosion of die-casting mold is relatively large, and the outer surface is generally bluish.

6. The injection mold generally depends on the thimble, and the faceted type can be exhausted. The die casting mold must have an exhaust slot and a slag collection package.

7. The requirements of the die-casting mold for the faceted type are higher. It should be that the alloy has much better fluidity than the plastic. It is very dangerous for the high temperature and high pressure fluid to fly out of the faceted type.

8. Compared with the injection mold, the die-casting mold has a larger clearance for the movable distribution part of the die-casting mold, because the high temperature of the die-casting process will cause thermal expansion, and if the gap is too small, the mold will be stuck.
